brad woke me up at 730 so i could take him to the airport for his trip to amsterdam. we stopped at kosta's and had some breakfast, then i dropped him off and went back to bed.

I rushed out the door to work only to find 3 runners already there. Mitch had forgotten which day was his day off... and shown up on the wrong day. i took advantage of this situation to find some ride time, and went up to Mirror Lake Highway.

Up Parley's i saw a stopped bike, so i pulled over to help. the 60+ yr old man told me he just had some bad gas or something and was struggling with the throttle to keep the bike running. Then he thanked me for stopping and told me he'd be ok, so i got back on the triumph and hauled ass to Kamas.

I stopped at Dick's Drive-in and had a burger... and then attacked MLH. it was cold and threatening rain. it's almost july!!! so i turned around and headed back to park city.

I ended up meeting up with Emily and going to watch Aerielist jumping at the Olympic Park. it was pretty wild stuff. Had a lot of fun hanging out up there and BS'ing with her. I really wish she had more time in her schedule, i could do that like everyday.

Now i sit on the couch, missing a roommate and wondering what my weekend holds in store for me. my bet is much much much riding, some climbing and sleeping. Perfection.

the short version: it rocked. i'm hooked. i can't wait to go again. it was perfect.

So it's 10:30 the night before my first trip with the canyonchasers and i have yet to pack, yet to rebuild or install the 12v power accessory i designed, yet to put the bags on the bike, basically yet to do shit.

got a sleep pad and a chair to go with the new sleeping bag and tent for this season. thank god for REI sales and a rain suit cuz it doesn't look like blissful weather. oh, and bombproof rain gloves. they're for mixing battery acid n stuff, but they fit perfectly over my old gloves and will make them all the way waterproof.

I'm nervous, but with every item i put in the bag i get more confident that this is just like any other trip, except better. Nothing to worry about. We're going to have a great time. Kinahorah. (that's my lil yiddish from jessica's batmitzvah. means 'knock on wood' or 'heaven forbid'. tell your friends. us heathens can rock the yiddish

ok im gonna go pack, solder up a relay, maybe put the luggage in the bag and hit the sack.

maybe reports from the road, most probably reports when i return.

so the ride home from dave's was interesting. the new springs are WAY stiff. they'll take some getting used to. Rode to the lawfirm on friday, and the Chang called and offered me a job. had to tell everyone i wasn't coming back. they weren't thrilled at all. but they all understood.

the chang wanted me to start monday, then called back and said to come in after i get back from the carribean. w00t, week off.

on sat, i went up BCC with terry tandeski and his vtx1800. we had a blast, till my damn bike started acting all kooky on the way down. damn near ran out of gas and the thing was running on 2 cyl's. got home, tore the whole bike apart, ziptied all the coil wires to the coils, and all is well now. damn scary not knowing what was wrong tho.

In other bike news, matt stolberg got his msf cert today! 100% on his written and riding. he's gonna go get a helmet and his endorsement tomorrow and then come get the GS850. it'll be nice to have a riding buddy... not to mention not having to babysit the GS, and have that $$$ in my pocket

on tomorrow's todo list:
-go take the car to the shop. find out why the alarm's going off at 3am
-drop my stuff off @ the lawfirm
-drop some cd's off at billy bordy's
-get sandals for my cruise
-press and box my sportcoat and dress clothes
-change the oil in the GS (and the triumph on tues when the BMW shop opens)
-finish this contract for the TBRA website
-return some clothes, get some jeans for work @ the chang

gonna be a full day, so im gonna go to bed.

so i was at work at the lawfirm and matt stolberg calls and lays down some news (which i cannot yet repeat, but it amazes me[edit: he's having a baby]). then the chang calls and says they really really really want me to work there.... and are going to try to acomodate my schedule to the carribean. Just like in every other situation, when you want something it doesn't pay any attention to you. But when you're finished or uninterested, bang!

If they offer, i think im gonna take it. better schedule to get into school and contract.

in other news, the parts for the triumph are here shortly i will head down to dave p's and pick my baby up, try my new springs and suspension settings on the ride home (in the dark). But at least it's ready to rock n roll for saturday. I smell a canyon ride. smells like.... bliss.
